RESONATE
Enhancing resilient forest value chains through natural and socio-economic responses

To safeguard the vital role that forests play in Europe's economy, society, and environment, RESONATE aims at enabling the resilience of European forest systems and their capacity to deliver products and services, while enhancing their ecological richness and stability. To do so, the project investigates forest value chain resilience in 9 regional case studies representing the diversity of European forest ecosystems, climate change impacts, and management options across biogeographic regions, complemented with European scale modelling and analysis.
Looking at the variety of resilience challenges and disturbance regimes across Europe, RESONATE develops practical guidance to stakeholders in the form of e.g., resilience indicators suitable for a variety of applications. The information generated in the project via new research and stakeholder engagement will be integrated into a range of decision support tools. RESONATE is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme and runs for 4 years, from April 2021 until March 2025.
Prospex Institute's Role

Stakeholders involved in the project are forest owners and managers, forest associations, industry partners, as well as authorities, policy makers from both forest and other land use sectors and NGOs.

With Stakeholder knowledge elicited throughout the project, Prospex Institute ensures that the knowledge and experiences of policy and forest value chains actors are accounted for throughout the project, and that RESONATE findings and final products provide effective guidance and answer stakeholders’ needs.
This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement number 101000574.
